Resetting Your LIGO.ORG password

When you visit https://my.ligo.org you are presented with a simple login dialog. Below the login dialog is a clickable link which can be used to reset your password.

If you click the "forgot your password?" reset link, you are redirected to the Password Assistance dialog. Currently the only thing you can do there is reset your password:

If you click "Submit", you will see this in response:

And you will get an email like this, with a URL in it:

If you click on the URL (or cut and paste it into your browser), You will see the actual password reset dialog:

Notice that the URL from the email appears in the browser URL window - This is very important! If you mistype, or if the password rule check fails, the URL will become blank, and you will need to go back to the email and click it again!
